January 2026: Sydney to Manila & El Nido


This 12-day immersive experience is designed for anyone passionate about teaching English to speakers of other languages while learning through cultural exchange. Beginning in Sydney, we will travel to Manila and then to El Nido, a stunning island in the Philippines. Participants will teach English lessons to children, gaining valuable insights into language education in a diverse cultural context. Professional learning sessions, delivered and facilitated by Cindy Valdez, will be conducted through an action learning program, providing practical strategies and hands-on experience in language teaching.

  • In addition to the travel documents you need, it's important to always carry cash with you. There are currency exchange offices in El Nido, but you can also exchange money in Australia before your trip. Be sure to bring any personal medications you may need, including antihistamines. Insect repellent is also essential.

    Also, don’t forget to complete the eTravel registration before your departure. You should register at least 72 hours before your scheduled flight to ensure smooth entry into the Philippines. Once registered, you will receive a QR code to present upon arrival.
